Description: Avahi is an implementation of the Multicast DNS and DNS Service Discovery (mDNS/DNS-SD) specifications for Zeroconf computing. This means that you can plug your machine into a network and instantly be able to view other people whom you can chat with, find printers to print to, or find files being shared. This kind of technology is already found in MacOS X (also known as Rendezvous, Bonjour, and Zeroconf). It is based on the discontinued flexmdns project.

Lua is also frequently used as a general-purpose, stand-alone language. Lua is free software. Lua combines simple procedural syntax with with powerful data description constructs based on associative arrays and extensible semantics. Lua is dynamically typed, interpreted from bytecodes, and has automatic memory management with garbage collection, making it ideal for configuration, scripting, and rapid prototyping.
