Power protection and backup

MGEUPS PSP monitoring the device

About a month ago, the server has got and uninterruptible power supply (UPS). MGE Protection Center 500 DIN was chosen - extremely comfortable for home use. Some time was needed before the gain is being used as it should, however. Some software must have been installed and configured (nut, mgeups-psp). This gave birth to new Slackware package for my repository. Now the machine is protected against current hits, surges, small power interruptions and as well it has lightning protection on the power and data lines.

The ambition is this way the content to be maximally accessible and from now on if it is not this will mean that either there is no network power for more than 20 minutes or the guilt is in the internet provider. (By the way his equipment now also is powered thru my UPS.)

File system problem

Because of a problem with the file system, with which the service daemons work, the access to the server was not possible from about 1:30 AM to 2 PM today. Rebuild of the file system was required which took time, but now everything looks fine. The cause for the problem is still being investigated.

My apologies to those that had access problems. For a revenge today I'm releasing some new Slackware packages.
